Tixaway helps you find tickets for concerts, games, theater and comedy across the US and Canada, and shows you what they cost right now. We don’t sell tickets ourselves: when you’re ready to buy, we send you to the marketplace that has them.
Find the event
Start from What’s on, a category like concerts or sports, a league such as the NFL or NBA, your city, or the search box. On the home page, “Tonight & this weekend” shows events near you when we can tell roughly where you are, and you can change the city at any time. Bigger cities also have a page for the weekend ahead, like things to do in New York this weekend.
Every list can be narrowed down as you go: artist or team, city, venue, a specific date or “this weekend”, time of day and price. The results update as soon as you choose.
Where the prices come from
For each event we show the lowest ticket price currently listed on StubHub or Viagogo. We check these prices several times a day, and every event page says when we last checked. If our last check is more than three days old, we don’t show a price at all and say we’re refreshing it instead, so you never see an old price presented as current.
The price we show is the cheapest listing at that moment. Resale prices change through the day, and fees are added at checkout, so the marketplace always shows the final amount before you pay.
StubHub or Viagogo?
StubHub and Viagogo are part of the same company and share most of their listings, so their prices are usually identical. We point visitors in the US and Canada to StubHub and everyone else to Viagogo, and we show both side by side only when their prices actually differ.
Price history
Once we’ve checked an event’s price on enough days, the event page shows a chart of the cheapest ticket over time. Hover or tap the line to see the price on a given day. It shows how the price has moved; it doesn’t predict where it will go.
Unusual prices and season packages
Sometimes the cheapest ticket left for an event is one very expensive listing, for example $1,440 for a show whose other dates start at $40. When the lowest price is more than six times what other dates of the same show (or similar shows at the same venue) cost, the event page says so and tells you what the other dates cost, instead of presenting it as a normal price.
Season tickets and multi-game packages are labelled as packages rather than dated games, so they don’t show up in “Tonight” or “This weekend”.
Weather, getting there and venue facts
- Weather: for events in the next seven days, the forecast for the start time from the National Weather Service (US) or Environment Canada, updated about every six hours. Temperatures and distances are shown in °F and miles in the US and in °C and kilometres everywhere else.
- Getting there: the nearest train, subway, light-rail and streetcar stops, bus stops, public parking and hotels around the venue, from open map data. Distances are measured in a straight line from the venue, so the walk is a little longer.
- Venue facts: capacity, opening year, home teams and former names come from open public data about each venue.
Buying your tickets
- Tickets are bought on StubHub or Viagogo, in your own account there.
- Delivery, refunds and the buyer guarantee are handled by that marketplace under its own terms.
- If an event is cancelled, postponed or moved, the event page says so, and the marketplace you bought from handles any refund.
How Tixaway makes money
When you buy through our links, the marketplace may pay us a commission. You pay exactly the same price as you would going there directly. This never changes which events or prices we show. More in our affiliate disclosure.
What we can’t show (yet)
We don’t have live seat-by-seat availability or prices for each section; the marketplace shows those once you click through. We also don’t show face value prices.
